Chili Relleno Casserole

Ingredients

  • BEAT until smooth:
  • 1--8 ounce can tomato sauce
  • 1 cup half and half milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • SPLIT, rinse, drain on paper towel:
  • 3--4 ounce cans whole green chilies
  • 1/2 pound Monterey Jack cheese, grated--reserve 1/2 cup for top
  • 1/2 pound sharp cheddar cheese, grated

Directions

IN 1 1/2 quart casserole, ALTERNATE layers cheese, chilies, batter. POUR tomato sauce over top and add reserve cheese. BAKE until hot, until cheese melts.
