- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup corn syrup, dark
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1 tablespoon baking soda
- Candy thermometer
- Butter for pan

Directions
In a heavy saucepan combine the sugar, syrup, and vinegar. Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Cook to 300°F or crack stage. Remove from heat, Quickly stir in the baking soda. Continue to stir as the mixture will become frothy. Pour the mixture into a buttered pan. Cool and break into pieces.
