Christmas Pudding

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Flour
  • 1/4 cup Almonds - chopped
  • 3/4 cup Fresh white bread crumbs
  • 1 Small apple- peeled, cored, and grated
  • 3/4 cup Currants
  • Grated rind and juice of 1 small orange
  • 6 oz Sultanas
  • ½ tsp. Mixed spice
  • 1/2 cup Dates - stoned and chopped
  • ¼ tsp. Ground nutmeg
  • 3/4 cup Raisins - stoned and chopped
  • ½ tsp. Salt
  • 3/4 cup Shredded Suet
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1/4 cup cut mixed peel
  • 4 Tbsp. Brown Ale or brandy

Directions

3/4 cup Brown sugar


Thoroughly combine all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Pour into a well greased bowl and cover with a greased grease proof paper and foil. Cook in steamer or bain marie for 6 - 8 hours.
